I am putting this here for the time being, because I think it will get more attention here. I am also making a new thread because the one in the health section is pretty much riddled with spam. And I know there are new members that do different things.

Soo, that begs the question.. what is in your first-aid kit for your dogs? I am updating ours and am finding it lacking.

I have bandages, peroxide spray, tweezers, pointy scissors, Keflex, and Crazy glue. Also a muzzle, a soft denim one. Very compact.

What is keflex? Crazy glue is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that.

I don't have a dog specific first aid kit, but our human one is practically a medic bag. I've got BVM's and airways and blood pressure cuffs, and stethoscopes, and most of the time we have an O2 tank and kit kicking around... (Matt runs a first aid training company and is a paramedic, it's his job AND his hobby, hence the overflowing first aid BINS we have). I should get some dog specific things though, a muzzle and vet wrap at minimum.

My first aid kit no longer exists

What I used to have in it:

tweezers, quick stop, vet wrap, gauze - rolls and pads, thermometer, alcohol wipes, vaseline, peroxide, metronidazole, eye wash, ice pack, dremel, scissors, stethoscope.

What are some of these things for folks? I've not heard of some and others I am curious as to what and how they are used for dogs. Thanks.

we have a stethoscope.. I should put together an actual dog first aid kit, we have tons of human ones.

Also, another good thing to have in it (that I didn't see mentioned) is that New Skin stuff.
