I showed my friend this when our dogs were running in the valley. IF they have grass seed on their heads you best check their eyes. I showed her how to pull the lower eyelid down and sure enough there was grass seed lined up in the crease like corn on the cob. I showed her how to flush the eye and it comes right out with no scratching. TIs the season so i thought i would make a note of it incase other people are taking their dogs out to run for the first time in grass that has gone to seed. ONe well aimed splash of water will do it while you hold the eyelids open. FLoats it right out of there quickly without scratching the cornea. I also wetted the dogs down several times since it was so hot and made sure we had two gallons of water for them to drink.

Please be careful out there it is 30 degrees hotter for them then it is for us.

Good thinking. I wouldn't have probably even thought of it.

Much easier then having infected eyes later. Just like making sure their ears are good and dry after swimming.

Good information smkie, I probably wouldn't have thought of it either unless I noticed a problem!

For drying ears after swimming, I use a solution of 1/2 rubbing alcohol 1/2 distilled vinegar, about 5-6 drops in each ear and we never have a problem It's what we learned from the pediatrician for our daughter's swimmer's ear............never failed with it yet! LOL
